This was an ARC review. Thank you to the author, Randolph Kuczer, for a copy of this book.

The Fairkind is young adult, fantasy-romance novel set in the fairkind and human realms. Jane, our female main character, is a Fairkind who struggles to fit in.
Jane lost her mother prior to the events of the story and Jane is still grappling with the void in her life. On top of this loss, Jane has not yet developed her powers. She feels as though she is an outcast, despite having friends who attempt to support her.
Jane flees her home and stumbles in the human realm where she is picked up by a farm and ranch owner. He takes her home and offers a place to stay with his family, and a job. Jane quickly falls for his son, Mike, and they marry.
The story speeds up very quickly once Jane gets to the human realm, and the romance between Jane and Mike is somewhat predictable. However, it was enjoyable read. This is a good introductory fantasy book if someone was interested in starting fantasy but is overwhelmed by magic systems and world building. The magic is there and exists but its not complicated to understand and the world building is minimal, especially once Jane gets to the human realm.
Quick disclaimer though... it does end on a fairly large cliffhanger so prepare yourself.
Overall I gave The Fairkind 🌮🌮🌮🌮 and I'm looking forward to the next novel!
